Unlimited Telephonic and Remote support!

If you or your colleagues need help with your computer, it is now possible to contact us by phone or email to assist you with solving computer, printer and software problems, or even do basic maintenance work for a fixed monthly fee.

What do you mean by "unlimited"?

The time we spend helping a client is unlimited. I.e. for a fixed monthly fee you get as much support as you need – regardless of how much time we spend on you!

Of course, this only applies to telephone help and help via software that enables us to connect to your computer from our offices.

If a visit to your premises is necessary – i.e. if it is not possible to solve the problem from us, there will be additional costs.

How long do you take?

If we dont have someone available right away, we will call you back.

Typically this will take 20-30 minutes if we are busy. If it is an emergency, we can speed it up or make an additional technician available.

What is not included?

1. Training (planned training, groups or any specific instructions that require more than 15 minutes of instructions to a user) e.g. new software or upgrades.

2. New hardware, computers printers etc and installations that do not use current Microsoft products

3. Repeated errors resulting from negligence or failure to comply with our requests or instructions

4. Problems with third-party software that we cannot or may not work on

5. Misuse of systems, hardware and/or software

6. Projects not considered normal maintenance or user support

7. Help outside normal office hours

How does it work?

Our technicians will help you to enable us to connect to your computer so that we can see the screen. You will be kept informed – by phone – of what to do.

Our technician will ask you to show him what the problem is – remember he can see the same screen as you – and make sure he understands what he needs to do. After that, he will solve the problem or explain to you how to get your task done. If it took a long time and you decided to hang up we will call you back to show what has been done and make sure you are satisfied.

What does it cost?

There is a one-off fee of R250 per computer payable to register it on our system.

We have a sliding scale whose costs decrease the more computers there are in your home or business that want to use the program. Our basic price is R230 per month for one computer and R180 per computer per month if you want to install more than 5 computers.

Payment?

We accept EFT and debit orders.

You will receive a monthly invoice from us or your bank account will be debited on the first of the month.

What are the conditions?

Your installation, products and/or equipment must comply with the following:

1. Your internet connection must be in working order and fast enough to enable us to help. The minimum speed is 4mbps.

2. Your software eg Windows must be up to date. Please note that older versions of Windows Server and Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.1 are no longer supported by Microsoft. If it is possible to upgrade your equipment, we can provide a quote so that you meet the minimum requirements

3. Fairly new and stable hardware platform – preferably no older than 5 years.

How safe is it?

SWDTech has been in business since 2003 and is well known and trusted.

Our technicians are monitored and follow very strict regulations to protect you and your data. You can see exactly what is being done and it is possible to interrupt the session at any time.

Once we are done the software we used can be removed if you prefer, the technician will disconnect and you can get on with your work.

When is the service available?

From 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

What about additional visits?

If you prefer, the above service can be extended to provide for scheduled visits to your premises during which we can look at users’ problems (which cannot be solved over the phone), carry out maintenance work and make recommendations.

Our application of choice for remote support is Chrome Remote Desktop.
To use Chrome Remote Desktop, you need to have Chrome installed on your PC and install the Chrome Remote Desktop extension which you can download by clicking on the icon below. Once the extension is installed, we can connect to your computer by entering a unique PIN which you have to supply too us (don’t worry it will be displayed on your screen).

As part of our after sales service, we can connect to your PC via the internet to provide remote support.
